My Philosophy
THE LEAD AND LOVE K9 TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
BALANCED DOG TRAINING…WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A BALANCED DOG TRAINER?
A balanced system of dog training utilizes a wide array of tools, techniques, and philosophies. Our goal is to set dogs and their owners up for success in a manner that is clear, fair, consistent, and humane. Dogs, like humans, are individuals so we do not support a one-size-fits-all approach. If something is not working, we have an entire tool box of things to choose from.
Balanced training is also about understanding that training dogs is not just about teaching them to perform a series of obedience commands for a treat. Yes, the obedience foundation work is important, but what’s even more important is your dog’s state of mind, and your ability to own the role of leader in the relationship. Most behavior issues are a symptom of a much deeper problem. Dogs living in an anxious, stressed out state of mind cannot learn and connect with you, and ultimately end up making very bad choices. My unique training system is all about teaching you how to clearly and effectively communicate with your dog in a manner that he can understand. I teach my clients how to set up a structured lifestyle for their dogs. Dogs thrive on structure and guidance, and once this is accomplished many behavior problems fade away, or never even start.
We bring dogs into our lives to be our friends and companions, yet often forget that they see our human world differently than we do. I strive to help dog owners understand how to bridge the gap between how they think and feel, and how their dog thinks and feels when it comes to navigating life in a human world.
CREATING A BALANCED RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR DOG WILL MEAN…
- AFFECTION BALANCED WITH RULES AND BOUNDAIRES
- PLAY AND EXERCISE BALANCED WITH CALMNESS
- LEADERSHIP BALANCED WITH COMPANIONSHIP
